Band Parents Association Meeting

9/21/2009

1.       We now have permission from the Athletics office to have a concession stand at the boys and girls home basketball games

2.       Trish and Len met with Dave Dickens the week before school started and he is totally on board with our plans and will help in any way he can

3.       Len will connect with Jen O’Brien to form an alliance with Choir parents

4.       The Dining to Donate flyer will be sent to all to run off copies to distribute on Back to School Night 9/24

5.       All proposals will be sent to Dave Dickens for ok and review

6.       Need volunteers to help hand out Dining to Donate

7.       All parents are asked to spread the word and present information to their local grade schools

8.       Volunteer sheets will be distributed Back to School night for events

9.       All proceeds from program the band parents association run will be given directly to the band account per Dave Dickens

10.   Need to form an alumni connection to raise support for both financial and program development

11.   Money can be used for equipment repairs, field trips, uniforms, sheet music, transportation, promotional materials

12.   Len will speak at the Back to School night asking for more participation with the marching band from the students for the upcoming years

13.   Need to build the marching band numbers through awareness and engagement with other groups on campus (concert band members, choir, athletics, fine arts)

14.   Will get printing costs for the brochure and get extra copies made for upcoming recruitment events
